plantar fascitis
Plantar fascitis usually presents as pain and swelling on the bottom of the affected heel. It is often felt when first standing on your foot after a long period of rest. Continued weight bearing will eventually cause the pain to decrease. The pain can a lso become apparent after standing on your feet for long periods on hard surfaces. Many people associate this type of pain with heel spurs, but this type of pain often has no heel spur noted on x-ray. There are many forms of conservative treatment which can allow a person to return to full function with no pain.
